Following the success of the first webinar, Webinar 2 attracted over 100 delegates from industrial enterprises, commercial banks, energy service companies (ESCOs), and experts in the fields of energy and green finance.

During the session, representatives from the Program Implementing Entity, Saigon–Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB), and its coordinating partners shared a variety of practical insights regarding financial mechanisms supporting enterprises in energy efficiency, with a particular focus on the Risk Sharing Facility (RSF). Mr. Do Tuan Linh, representing SHB, delivered a presentation introducing the RSF Fund, its operational mechanism, and role in reducing credit risks and facilitating capital flows for energy efficiency investment projects in the industrial sector. His presentation helped participants gain a clearer understanding of the practical benefits of the RSF Fund for both commercial banks and industrial enterprises, while opening up new opportunities for cooperation to develop the green finance market in Vietnam further.

Continuing the program, Mr. Van Cong Binh, Director of Environment and Social Affairs, Corporate Banking Division – Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank (HDBank), delivered a presentation titled “Green Credit – Financial Leverage to Promote Energy Efficiency in Vietnam’s Industrial Sector: Policies and Practices.” In his presentation, Mr. Binh introduced HDBank’s policies, development orientations, and practical experiences in implementing green credit, while analyzing the role of the banking system in supporting enterprises to access preferential financial sources for energy efficiency projects. This information provided enterprises with practical and specific insights into the link between green finance and sustainable development, helping them better define their strategic direction for investing in energy-efficient solutions.

After the two presentations, a lively one-hour discussion session was held with the participation of experts from SHB and HDBank. The discussion created a direct dialogue between enterprises and banks on practical issues such as green credit access procedures, risk-sharing mechanisms, conditions for financial incentives, and challenges in integrating energy efficiency solutions into existing production activities. Questions and exchanges from enterprises were thoroughly addressed by experts, clarifying the feasibility, effectiveness, and safety of green financial instruments during implementation.

The third webinar of the project will continue to be organized in the near future, expected in early November 2025, under the theme “Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) – A Key to Promoting Energy Efficiency in Industrial Enterprises.” This upcoming session will delve into the collaboration model between enterprises and ESCOs, introduce popular ESCO contract types in Vietnam and internationally, and analyze key factors ensuring effectiveness and safety in energy efficiency investments without requiring large upfront costs.
