The ambassador said that Denmark has many advantages in using energy effectively, particularly recycled and clean energies like solar energy, energy produced from rubbish and biogas.

The new iPower consortium comprising 32 partners has been officially opened on 22 August 2011 to begin the huge task of opening the door for incorporating more renewable energies into the upcoming power grids.

The discovery is an important development in the worldwide effort to mimic the way plants make fuel from sunlight, a key step in creating a green energy economy. It was reported last week in Nature Materials by theorist Jens Norskov of the Department of Energy's SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory and Stanford University and a team of colleagues led by Ib Chorkendorff and Soren Dahl at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

France's consumption rose by 7% – and in Europe only Denmark and Ireland used less energy per unit of GDP than UK.The EU energy commissioner, Günther Oettinger, is expected to recommend member states are set individual targets on efficiency improvements.The UK is one of the top performers in Europe on energy efficiency, according to a European commission report.

According to the Danish climate commission, the country will gets its electricity from wind farms, developing an energy network entirely free of fossil fuels by 2050. The committee also said that biomass and wind energy could meet the bulk of the country’s energy requirements.

On June 23rd 2010, the Ministry of Industry and Trade solemnly organized the ceremony of “Honoring the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark in Vietnam for the cause of Industry and Trade”.
