Honoring the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark in Vietnam

On June 23rd 2010, the Ministry of Industry and Trade solemnly organized the ceremony of “Honoring the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark in Vietnam for the cause of Industry and Trade”.

Attending the ceremony were Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang and many leaders of the Emulation and Reward Department, Science and Technology Department, and International Corporation Department ; Peter Lysholt Hansen – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark in Vietnam, Lasse Malgaard, Counselor of the Embassy of Denmark and Ms. Tran Hong Viet, Environmental Program Officer.

During his 6-year term in Vietnam (2004-2010), Mr. Peter Lysholt Hansen has made numerous contributions to building and developing the cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Denmark, creating a pro-active relationship between Denmark and many Vietnamese agencies, and between Vietnamese and Danish businesses. Especially, Mr. Peter Lysholt Hansen himself has strongly advocated the campaign of funding for Vietnam’s priority projects in energy and environment, minimizing the impact of climate change, specifically the Cleaner Production in Industry (CPI) and some other activities of the National Target Program on Energy Efficiency and Conservation.

Also in the ceremony, Minister Vu Huy Hoang awarded Ambassador Peter Lysholt Hansen the Medal for the development of Vietnamese Industry and Trade. This is the recognition of the dedications the Ambassador has given the Vietnamese Industry and Trade, contributing to promoting and developing the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries.

In his speech at the ceremony, Minister Vu Huy Hoang praised the hard work the Ambassador has done during his 6-year term in Vietnam for the development of Industry and Trade and also wished that the Ambassador would continue to succeed in his new position and hoped that he would continue to be concerned and helpful to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade in particular and Vietnam in general as he has for the past 6 years.
