Energy efficiency and conservation at Hai Duong's Industrial Enterprises

08/04/2025

Many large electricity-consuming enterprises in Hai Duong Province are effectively implementing energy-saving solutions.

Enterprises upgrade their technology

Hai Duong is among the localities with high energy consumption. On average, the electricity used in industry, manufacturing, and construction accounts for 70% of the province’s total electricity consumption annually. Saving electricity in enterprises is a necessary solution that brings direct benefits to the businesses themselves.
Song Da Cao Cuong Joint Stock Company (SCL) is a typical example of an enterprise in Hai Duong effectively implementing energy-saving measures. According to Mr. Vu Van Chien, General Director of SCL: “To save energy, SCL always focuses on technological innovation and upgrading production lines to optimize the production process.”

At their autoclaved aerated concrete plant, fly ash production plant, and dry mortar and tile adhesive plant, the company previously used coal-fired furnaces. Today, they have transitioned to biomass furnaces, using agricultural and forestry residues such as wood chips and sawdust as fuel. To improve furnace efficiency, the company has researched technological solutions to modify combustion chamber volume and adjust airflow rates.
They also utilize waste heat from the drying process to pre-dry raw materials, which are then used in the next autoclaving stage. For the autoclaving system, the excess steam generated is reused to heat the boiler feedwater, ensuring proper water temperature during steam generation. This steam is also reused in the pre-curing chamber, a critical step in the autoclaved aerated concrete production process. These measures have shortened the boiler heating time and increased energy use efficiency.
Ford Vietnam Co., Ltd., a major automobile assembly enterprise in Vietnam, consumes between 1.2 and 1.3 million kWh of electricity on average. To save electricity, Ford Vietnam has invested in advanced, energy-efficient production lines, adopted common practices such as replacing lighting with energy-efficient alternatives, utilizing natural lighting and ventilation, and raising awareness among office and production staff about efficient electricity use.

They have also conducted an energy audit program to identify specific solutions to optimize energy usage. To take advantage of available space, Ford Vietnam plans to install a rooftop solar power system for internal use. With these measures, the company is committed to saving at least 2% of its annual electricity consumption.

Strengthening Promotion Campaigns

To encourage businesses to participate in electricity-saving efforts, PC Hai Duong has implemented numerous awareness and customer support initiatives over the years. In meetings with business clients, the company always integrates messaging on efficient and economical electricity use.

In the context of rising fuel prices, enterprises are required to save energy to reduce product costs and increase market competitiveness. This is also a way for businesses to support the power sector by helping to reduce electricity consumption, especially during peak demand periods.
