New EV Charging Station Is Easy to Install & Easy to Move

Like other EVSE-RS chargers, a green light comes on when the charger is ready for use, and it shuts itself off when it’s done charging. It also has plenty of safety features built in or included.

AeroVironment today announced a new, home EV charging station that is both easy to install and movable (picture below). This new “EVSE-RS Plug-In” is actually an expansion of the company’s popular EVSE-RS home charging product line.

The EV charging station is for a 240-volt outlet — it can just plug right into one. So, absolutely no need to hardwire the charging station into the home.

“The station is SAE-J1772 compliant and recharges all battery electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) incorporating the SAE standard,” an AeroVironment news release noted.

“The EVSE-RS Plug-In is easy to install, use and move,” said Wahid Nawabi, senior vice president and general manager of Efficient Energy Systems at AeroVironment. “All EV owners need is a dedicated 240 volt outlet, and they can easily install the wall mount and plug-in charger at their home. If they want to remove it, they simply unplug, slide it out of the bracket and take it with them to another location.”

The wall-mounting setup is reportedly super easy to move, making it simple to even bring the charger over to a relative’s or friend’s house if desired (in case there isn’t on in their neighborhood).

Like other EVSE-RS chargers, a green light comes on when the charger is ready for use, and it shuts itself off when it’s done charging. It also has plenty of safety features built in or included.
