On 22nd August, the Ministry of Construction held the approval of the draft "National Strategy for Green Building Development in 2030, with a vision to 2050

On 22nd August, the Ministry of Construction held the approval of the draft "National Strategy for Green Building Development in 2030, with a vision to 2050" under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi and representatives of relevant units. Proposals by the Department of Science, Technology and Environment, the Ministry of Construction as the managing agency; execution units is the Association of Construction Environment of Viet Nam; the charge master of this project is Prof. Dr. Pham Ngoc Dang - President VACEE. Agencies collaborate to develop the outline is National University of Civil Engineering, Ha Noi University of Architecture, Viet Nam Institute of Architecture Urban and Rural Planning, Association of Architects, Association of Construction Materials of Vietnam.

Today, the nations of the world are facing with the energy crisis, environmental pollution, degradation and depletion of natural resources, climate change. Meanwhile, housing construction and operation of the facility to meet the daily needs of the people in consumption from 40-70% of the total consumption of energy and natural resources of the country which generating more liquid, gas and solid waste pollution. 

In Vietnam, the Sustainable Development Strategy issued according to Decision of the Prime Minister, has considered the construction industry is one of the industry with sustainable development. Therefore, the study of the construction of "National Strategy for Green Building Development in 2030, with a vision to 2050" is essential. The mission of the strategy is determined to use energy efficiency and conservation, renewable energy development; efficient use of water; waste minimization; using saving components and materials construction; improve ambient air quality in and around the buildings; management and operation of green buildings ....

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Ngoc Dang presented the content outlined the framework of the Strategy. The strategy highlights the development of green building is the trend of the times. The majority of representatives agreed with the content of the draft, however, specific contents should be continued to research and supplement. Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi said: This is the essential outline of the current context, however the scientific research but is very important for the management of the State. Therefore, in the future, the editor checking to integrate additional related programs, policies and strategies. This national strategy needs to be reviewed, assessed and learned experience abroad to produce the Vietnamese own strategy.
