Mitsubishi Electric has completed installing a 6.2MW solar power plant in northern Japan.

The Onahama solar project in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture was built for a venture between Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance.
The project is expected to generate enough electricity to power more than 5,000 homes as well as reduce 9,800 tons of carbon emissions every year.
The Japanese firm also installed a 12MW power plant in Iwaki city in August, it said.
