Only in the field of energy, green materials can save about 14% of billed electricity used for lighting and air conditioning. In addition, the investment is not too high, with environmentally friendly features, while the payback period is relatively short. The information was revealed in a conference on green materials which was organized by the HCMC Green Architecture Club on August 14.
However, currently the number of people interested in green materials is not yet numerous, facing the barriers of information and qualifications of design consultants who tend to optimize space for investment owners.

The speakers and presenters at the workshop also said that in reality some works with green materials were relatively economical, such as the building Spa in Hoi An which took the advantage of locally available grinding stone, bamboo, and greenery to create a cool space even without using air conditioning systems.
Besides the speakers and presenters at the workshop also answered all the questions for those participants who were interested in Green Building certification such as LEED , LOTUS, EDGE and solutions to achieve this certification.
