Dong Nai Focuses on Green Growth

Focus on green growth

Mr. Cao Tien Dung, a delegate, the deputy director of the Department of Planning - Investment, said Dong Nai had developed and implemented specific plans to implement the national strategy on green growth. Accordingly, Dong Nai is applying various measures to encourage businesses, especially the high capacity and energy consuming manufacturers to conduct technological innovation, application of advanced management process, and operation to ensure the economical and efficient use of energy, both in energy production, distribution and consumption. At the same time, during the investment channeling, the province gives priority to investment projects with advanced technology, the projects for production of green products, and projects of less energy consumption and causing no environmental pollution. The goals by 2020 are set that the value of high-tech products, green technologies account for over 42% of provincial GRDP, and 80% of production facilities and establishments are targeted to achieve the environmental standards.

Besides, the application of science and technology in agricultural production is also one of the main domains of the policies; to restructure the agriculture towards sustainable development, with competitiveness, to increase the value and profits per unit of agricultural land in the coming period. The delegates concurred with measures to encourage the development of large-scaled centralized agricultural production zone, associated with science - technology application to create multiple quantities of goods, with high uniformity, and to ensure the environmental hygiene, and competitive price.

Delegate Ms. Nguyen Thi Cat Tien, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of Xuan Loc District, in her analysis said that to continue the improvement and efficiency of agricultural production for the new rural communes, one of the key solutions remains: it is the application of scientific and technological advances in production; the scaling up of the high economic valued crop model; the construction and development of agricultural brands associated with stable markets for farmed products.
