For enactment of Directive 04/2012/CT-UBND dated 9-12-2015 issued by the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) on strengthening the power savings in the province, the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade of Long An has implemented the programs, electricity-saving measures, and advised the PPC to promulgate guidance on the mandatory power savings to all levels, departments, units, offices and people, while enhancing the inspection, monitoring of implementation of energy conservation.
The lighting system in Tan An city
Recently, the power savings in general and particularly for lighting have come to life and practice and has always been the main concern of all levels, departments, agencies, units and people, which achieved more results.
The Deputy Director of the Long An Provincial Department of Industry and Trade- Mr. Duong Van Hoang Hoanh said: "To achieve the saving goal of at least 10% of energy costs annually in the State agencies, the local public service units, the Department of Industry and Trade had issued specific guidance to units in application of measures for economical and efficient use of electricity in the workplace.
In all the measures, some effective solutions are popular: Turn off electrical appliances when they are in use, when people are out of the room and during non-working time; completely unplug and turn off the main power supply if the equipment is not used at the end of working hours; make use of natural light and natural ventilation; turn off lights when few people are working in the room; optimum design and installation of lighting systems for commonly shared space, reducing at least 50% of the general lighting in corridors, courtyard area, garden, fence; replace the bulbs with high-efficiency lighting lamps.
Street lighting system in Tan An city
At Ben Luc District Party Committee headquarters, the electricity savings practice has been seriously followed by the officials in earnest. Accordingly, at the beginning and the end of working hours, employees minimize the use of air conditioners, instead, they use fans for electricity saving. The District Party Committee, Propaganda and Education Department take the leading role in the power saving practice. Leaders and committee staff regularly keep the office windows open, to make full use of natural light and wind to replace the lights and air conditioner, or fan keeping in mind of power savings purposes.
For the public lighting system in the Tan An town, the Urban Works Company of Tan An is initiative to apply measures such as regular inspection and evaluation of modes of public lighting, to ensure the principle of economical and efficient lighting; utilization of system control with automatic shutdown devices, reasonable illumination during night-time for the street lighting system.
The Director of Tan An Urban Company JSC, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Vy said: "If the system of public lighting was unavailable or insufficiently illuminated, accidents would happen, social evils would prevail, the city would also loose its aesthetic appearance. So what should we do to reduce the funding while ensuring the traffic safety, sustaining the laws, social order and the urban landscape view? We just have to go through the technological innovation, to solve the problem. As a result, from early May to November 2015, the province has saved 2.29 million kWh of electricity.
In the future, the Department of Industry and Trade continues to advise the Provincial People's Committee to coordinate with departments, sectors to promote organizations, to mobilize the people and businesses in application of technical solutions for safe, economical and efficient use electricity by using high-performance equipment, directed at energy saving, renewable energy. It is really a contribution into local budget savings and secure national energy.
