Some days ago the Central Committee for
Vietnam Farmers’ Association had a meeting in Hanoi
with Knescopic Electronic Corporation – India on cooperation of supporting
the poor households in rural and mountainous area in approaching electrical
devices using solar power.
Based on analysis of the actual use of
electrical appliances in rural areas and mountainous regions of Vietnam, both
sides agreed to sign on the project "Solar energy lighting for the poor and
the minority in mountainous areas".
The project aims to propagate and raise the
awareness of energy saving in order to alleviate the consequences of greenhouse
effect and global warming and also to gradually bring high tech devices to the
poor. This is regarded as a useful and practical project for the poor in Viet Nam, especially
in 62 poor districts, because it supports the production of products well
suited with the divided terrain in mountainous area of our country.
In phase I, it is estimated that there will
be 25,000 lighting lamps docked to Vietnam to serve the poor. The
price of the bulb is approximately over USD30 each, and the average longevity
is 15 years. Manufacturing materials of these lamps have been issued carbon
certificates by International Organization and Global Energy International
Committee and therefore are guaranteed to meet safety standards. Those are
green lighting products and can illuminate for 50 thousand hours. The assured longevity
of batteries is 3 years. People will also be trained on how to use batteries
most effectively. The products will be distributed free for the poor.
Soon after being agreed upon by both sides,
the project will be submitted to the Government of Vietnam and the Environment
agency of United Nations for approval. If approved, Knescopic Electronics
Corporation will collaborate with Vietnam Farmers’ Association in the project
to supply devices using solar power for farmers. These solar power devices are
produced by the company for the poor community in rural areas. Based on the
results of sponsorship proposals, the devices will be supplied free of charge
for farmers or at a fraction of their costs.
Knescopic Electronics Corporation specializes
in manufacturing energy saving electronic devices. It has developed an
international network of offices in India,
Taiwan, Hong
Kong and many other regions worldwide. Products of Knescopic
Electronics have the advantage of being environment friendly. By using solar
energy, these products release less carbon dioxide and also reduce the use of other
energy sources which are being excessively exploited such as hydro-power,
thermal power, oil and gas.
