One of the world’s largest solar energy developers has launched a service for UK householders and businesses to install solar arrays at no upfront cost.
US-based SunEdison said its ‘Energy Saver Plan’, claimed to be the first of its kind in the UK, could help homeowners save up to 15% on their electricity bill.

It is also offering the solution to businesses, with the chance to sign a 20-year power purchase agreement with the company.
SunEdison said it would take care of the installation, maintenance and insurance of the system.
Mark Babcock, Vice President of SunEdison Residential and Small Commercial Europe believes its offer could “revolutionise access to solar for UK homeowners”.
He added: “To simplify the process of going solar, we’ve removed the biggest barrier – the upfront purchase cost. This means that from day one, customers can save money. We anticipate high demand for this no cost way to save money immediately.”
