Apple has joined forces with solar panel maker SunPower to build two solar projects in China.
They will be located in the Sichuan province and have a total capacity of 40MW – generating 80 million kWh of electricity every year.
The projects are expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2015.

Tom Werner, President and CEO of SunPower said: “These projects will provide clean, renewable energy, help address climate change and continue to provide agricultural benefits to the local farmers while protecting the area’s precious land.”
Once complete, the projects will be co-owned by Apple and Sichuan Shengtian New Energy Development, SunPower’s project development joint venture.
China has set a target of installing 17.8GW of solar power capacity this year.
