The US has signed an agreement with Edison Electric Institute (EEI) to speed up the deployment of plug-in electric vehicle technologies.
Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the EEI at the Annual Convention in New Orleans, LA. The agreement follows the President’s goal to develop plug-in electric vehicles by 2022 as affordable as gasoline-powered vehicles in 2012.

Mr Moniz said: “The US transportation system produces a third of the country’s carbon emissions, making it essential we improve plug-in electric vehicle technology and increase their numbers on the road.”
