A new hybrid gas-wind turbine called SmartGen has been designed to work on low winds based on a system that turns the turbine with compressed air from a compressor running on biogas. In September 2009, after two years of construction and infrastructure investment, the people of Dai Tan commune, with Dai Loc district government, were pleased to welcome the success of the first biopetrol products of Dai Tan ethanol plant which was invested by Dong Xanh JSC with the total investment capital of more than VND500 billion (the working capital is expected to reach VND900 billion). Dai Tan ethanol plant is considered an "enormous" project which will bring great benefits to the industry of Dai Loc district.

Iron and steel production remains one of the strengths of Bac Ninh. Preliminary investigations have shown that there are over 800 steel enterprises in Chau Khe, Dinh Bang, including 100 steel tempering facilities, 80 steel rolling facilities, 50 steel dragging and drawing facilities, 150 recycled embryo rolling facilities and other metals production facilities. The field of steel tempering and rolling alone provides 200,000 tons of steel ingot; 200,000 tons of rolled steel to the market annually, which brings about VND200,000 billion per year.
