Dalat city is enhancing the power-saving with solutions on a large scale, as it is planned from now to the end of 2015.

Accordingly, the governing departments and units of the People's Committee and 14 wards and communes in the province begin to take electricity savings as an indicator in emulation and reward criteria and annual internal discipline.

In each room, it is to make use of natural light and natural ventilation, and electric lights should be switched off when it is unnecessary or when fewer people are working in the room.  Except for holidays and big events, during the normal days, the Dalat Urban Services Company Limited reduces 50% of public lighting during peak hours at night, especially when traffic density decreases appreciably.

Households are encouraged to use energy saving light bulbs such as LED lamps, T5 and T8 fluorescent lamps, compact fluorescent lights and  solar energy heating equipment. It is also regulated that from 5pm to 9pm every day, people should  limit the use of large power consumption devices including water heaters and electric irons.

Restaurants and commercial service facilities are obliged to turn off the lights in the entire advertising panels and outdoor decorations after 10pm. At peak hours, enterprises are advised to minimize the operation of large power consuming equipment, such as stone crushers, compressors, or pumping stations.
