Exciting 2015 Festival of Power Savings

On May 30 morning, at the Provincial Convention & Event Center, nearly 2 thousand people representing the departments and sectors of 21 southern provinces and cities and local people attended the 2015 festival, an Event co-organized by Southern Power Corporation and the Department of Industry and Trade.

Beside a parade to call for power savings, marching through downtown routes of Bien Hoa city, the 2015 Power Saving Day was ebullient with competitions: "Dong Nai Youth union members and students participating in electricity savings" ; "Dong Nai women with safe and economical use of electricity" and a Painting Contest namely "Dong Nai students join the People in Power Savings".

Speaking at the 2015 Power Saving Day, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee  Mr. Vo Van Chanh called on all sectors, departments and people in the province to strengthen the communication activities to mobilize all the people, economic sectors to perform the possible options for economical use of electricity. He also urged the departments to disseminate new power saving technologies actively to each enterprise; to facilitate the distribution of energy-saving devices and deploy the product sales to every home, every person; to highlight the good exemplary practitioners in economical use of electricity in offices, and workplaces with general goal of building up a community of power savings, in order to protect the environment purity.

In 2014, 21 Southern provinces and cities saved 1.2 billion kWh of electricity, equivalent to the amount of over VND 1,550 billion. In particular, Dong Nai is one of the best performers in local movements of electricity savings (over 253 million kWh in 2014, equivalent to more than VND 300 billion).
