Nghe An Industrial Enterprises Proactively Implement Energy-Saving Measures

08/09/2025

In Nghe An, many enterprises have proactively implemented electricity-saving measures, helping reduce production costs, ease pressure on the power system, ensure energy security, and promote sustainable development.

Faced with challenges in energy supply and increasing pressure from climate change, enterprises in Nghe An are making strong efforts to save electricity and use energy efficiently. A series of technical solutions, investments in modern technology, and changes in energy consumption habits are being applied, contributing to reducing production costs, improving competitiveness, while also easing pressure on the national power system.
Power Sector Implements Comprehensive Solutions
Since early 2025, Nghe An Power Company (PC Nghe An) has proactively implemented communication programs on safe, economical, and efficient electricity use.
PC Nghe An’s affiliated units have also focused on direct communication in residential areas and industrial zones. The key message is to encourage large enterprises to practice energy efficiency: turning off machinery and equipment when not in use, planning to replace outdated, power-intensive machines, and instead selecting modern technologies that both improve production efficiency and save energy.

In addition, PC Nghe An has actively disseminated information through mass media such as Nghe An Radio and Television, Nghe An Newspaper, as well as on social media platforms like Zalo and Facebook, and via SMS and email. These channels are used to call on customers to use electricity economically, safely, and effectively: turning off devices when not in use, regularly cleaning and maintaining equipment for stable and efficient operation.
Nghe An Power Company emphasized: “Saving electricity and using it efficiently is a regular and long-term task. To ensure stable power supply, improve power quality and reliability, enhance customer service, protect the environment, and support socio-economic development, PC Nghe An calls on customers to understand, agree, and actively participate in energy-saving practices.”
Enterprises Actively Respond
Many enterprises in Nghe An have proactively invested in and modernized technology to save electricity—both reducing production costs and increasing productivity while protecting the environment.
A prime example is Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company, which has implemented several energy efficiency measures in its production process, saving the company billions of VND each year.
The waste heat power plant provides 40% of the plant’s electricity consumption.
Specifically, the company installed a waste heat recovery system to capture excess heat from the kiln system for power generation; installed systems to recover heat at two points—hot gas from clinker cooling (AQC kiln) and hot air from the preheater tower (SP kiln) across both production lines; optimized equipment by installing inverters; optimized equipment operation; controlled lighting systems by replacing low-efficiency bulbs with higher-efficiency ones; monitored and controlled air conditioning use; operated compressed air systems; installed inverters for electrostatic precipitator drag chain conveyors, for four exhaust and flue gas fans, and for two coal mill fans.
Mr. Vu Van Thanh, Electromechanical Technician at Song Lam Cement JSC, said: “After installing the waste heat recovery system, the company has saved VND 159.5 billion, with the system supplying about 40% of the plant’s electricity consumption.”

Similarly, Hoa Sen Nghe An One-Member LLC has issued electricity consumption benchmarks for each production line, helping control and improve electricity efficiency. The company has assigned clear responsibilities to the inspection department to strictly monitor electricity consumption, promptly detect and alert when exceeding benchmarks; reviewed and applied solutions for electricity savings, from optimizing lighting systems and adjusting machine room temperatures to controlling compressed air pressure and water pipelines; improved technology with inverter systems and adjustments to pumps and cooling stations based on real temperatures to reduce energy use.
In particular, the company is implementing a rooftop solar power system with a capacity of about 12.3 MW, helping self-supply part of its electricity consumption and reducing pressure on the grid.
Using energy efficiently not only helps enterprises cut costs but also contributes to environmental protection, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and ensuring national energy security. The concrete, practical actions of enterprises in Nghe An are spreading a strong message of social responsibility, moving toward a green economy and sustainable development.
