An energy efficiency expert is looking for three Cornish businesses keen to tap into the benefits of a free biomass boilers.
Happy Energy, based at Pool Innovation Centre, wants to hear from high energy using businesses in the county, such as hotels, care homes, schools, colleges and food and drink manufacturers, which are off the main gas network, currently spend £15,000 annually on their heating bills and are interested in the possibility of receiving a free biomass boiler.
Happy Energy CEO Adrian Wright, said: “Apart from a few ground breaking companies (mostly in the tourism sector), businesses in Cornwall have been relatively slow to adopt the benefits of Biomass so we are looking for two or three who we can work with to demonstrate just what can be achieved and the benefits that Biomass brings.”
He added: “For businesses off the mains gas network, energy is an expensive commodity and biomass gives high energy using businesses the opportunity to benefit from a brand new, highly efficient heating system which is not only much more environmentally friendly but by using wood pellets are less likely to be affected in the future from fluctuating oil prices, or have to rely on often more expensive LPG or electricity.”
Mr Wright said he will be taking a full commercial biomass system to house on the company’s stand at the Royal Cornwall Show in June to guide visitors through the benefits of Biomass so businesses can see for themselves what the system is and how it works.
He added: “With a lot of businesses in Cornwall off the mains gas network there are major benefits to Biomass – including generous Renewable Heat Incentive payments from the Government for businesses buying a system.”
