Schneider Electric presented today its latest energy efficiency project for buildings, developed for Skanska’s Green Court Bucharest office building.
Schneider’s project consisted in equipment and solutions for electricity supply and distribution, operating cost reduction, server room cooling, monitoring and control of HVAC, air filtration and energy consumption. The company’s products and consultancy helped Green Court become one of the few buildings in Bucharest which received the LEED Gold certificate for energy efficiency.

During the our visit at Green Court, which is also hosting Schneider Electric’s new 3.100sqm headquarters, we were able to see the company’s complete solution for energy supply, namely the modular, dry 1600 kVA transformer substations. The main advantages for this solution is the low impact on the building’s dead weight as well as its safe installation and operation. The other equipment supplied by Schneider consists of general and per floor electric panels, VARSET capacitor banks for power factor correction, motion sensors, water-cooling for the server room equipment and UPS stations. All of these can be monitored and controlled at any time by the owner and tenants, using an ordinary internet browser.
All of the above, combined with the SmartStruxure Solution, can lead to energy savings of up to 30%. Furthermore, SmartStruxure can be used to monitor and control multiple locations using the same server, a significant advantage for real estate developers and property management companies.
