SeaPlanner has been selected as the system to support construction of the Rampion Offshore Wind Farm. SeaPlanner will provide the Vessel and Traffic Management System (VTMS), which will be operated from the marine coordination centre based at Newhaven, and will be tracking coverage for the offshore site, the export cable route, construction base, and all vessels and teams at work in those locations.
Requirements for the project are to deploy, real-time, tracking of vessels and personnel within the development sites, surrounding areas and between the site and operational bases. This will be provided via SeaPlanner's Operations Manager, Personnel Manager and Induction Manager modules, with personnel tracking fully integrated into the VTMS. SeaPlanner will also be responsible for the provision and installation of all equipment for the marine coordination centre.

Dominic Stratton from SeaPlanner commented: "It is critical for the construction team to have constant and reliable access to personnel and vessel data throughout operations offshore. We're delighted that SeaPlanner has been selected to provide this in support of construction of the Rampion project and to extend our UK offshore wind portfolio."
This contract adds to SeaRoc Group's presence on E.ON's sites which include deployment of SeaPlanner on the Humber Gateway, Amrumbank, the pre-construction survey period for Arkona Offshore Wind Farm and also Robin Rigg and Scroby Sands which utilise SeaRoc's GIS services and online tools.
Located 13km off the Sussex Coast, the Rampion Offshore Wind Farm, being built by E.ON, the Green Investment Bank plc and Canadian Energy Company Enbridge, is a "Round 3" project that when complete will have a maximum export capability of 400MW and consist of 116 wind turbine generators and foundations.
