From October 7 to 10, 2025, in Da Nang City, the training program “Scaling Up Energy Efficiency for Technical Staff of Industrial Enterprises” was organized within the framework of the “Vietnam Scaling Up Energy Efficiency Project” (VSUEE), following the success of previous training programs tailored for business leaders and energy managers in the region.

The training program attracted the participation of technical officers from numerous enterprises across energy-intensive sectors such as plastics, sugar, food and beverage, textiles, rubber, mechanical engineering, and electronics. These industries are major contributors to Vietnam’s industrial growth and export turnover but are also facing significant challenges in improving energy efficiency, as energy costs account for 15–25% of total production costs in many enterprises.

Over the four-day course, trainees were provided with in-depth knowledge and hands-on skills through a combination of theory and practice. The training content focused on key topics, including: Identifying and developing energy efficiency projects in industrial production; Energy audit techniques and analysis of energy-saving potential in equipment and production lines; Financial analysis and investment evaluation for energy efficiency projects; Application of Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) systems to monitor energy use performance; Introduction of advanced energy efficiency technologies and solutions for various industrial sectors.

During the sessions, energy experts from the VSUEE Project introduced numerous practical models and solutions to improve energy performance in high-consumption systems such as refrigeration and air conditioning, boilers and steam systems, compressed air systems, pumping and fan systems, and lighting systems, among others. In addition, participants were guided on how to develop and implement energy management systems in accordance with ISO 50001 standards, conduct regular energy audits, and prepare technical and financial documentation to access preferential loans or green financing mechanisms for energy efficiency investment projects.

The training program not only delivered professional knowledge on energy efficiency and introduced best-practice solutions applied in Vietnamese industries, but also enhanced the participants’ capacity to use technical tools and methodologies for energy evaluation. It further strengthened their ability to consult, propose, and implement energy-saving measures directly within their enterprises. This is a concrete step contributing to reducing production costs, improving productivity, and supporting enterprises in moving toward green production and greenhouse gas emission reduction, in line with Vietnam’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Through such training programs as the one held in Da Nang, the VSUEE Project is making an important contribution to building a highly skilled technical workforce in energy efficiency, facilitating technology transfer, and spreading effective energy-saving models throughout Vietnam’s industrial sector.
