Mr. Nguyen Minh Quang’s pig farm in Luong Phu B, Luong Hoa
Lac, Cho Gao district is one of the typical economic models which get benefits
from using biogas to operate generators in cattle-breeding and in daily life.
Quang invested about 30 million dong to build a 20m3 biogas
pit and a 5kW generator running on biogas. After 3 years, the system has well
satisfied electricity demand of his family such as: three 1-Hp motors, a
refrigerator, a washing-machine, a 1-Hp air-conditioner. Hence, his family
saves about 1 million VND on electricity each month.
According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Quang, with 20 sows, 100 piglets and 50 pigs, the amount of biogas emitted from the herd is efficiently enough for the generator to operate 8 hours per day and this amount of fuel is also enough for his family and some neighbors.
Moreover, after his new construction, the environment has been greatly improved. His family’s biogas-generator system is especially valuable while electricity is usually cut off and prices of electricity and gas continually increase now.
As a result of the biogas system, farms of up to 30 pigs should choose suitable type of biogas-generator system based on its scale and electricity consumption. Although it may cost you pretty much at first, the system would create beneficially stable and cheap current for producing and daily life. This also helps in reducing cost of production and increasing benefits.
