The Vietnam Academy of Sciences and Technology (VAST) said that under the cooperation with the Institute of Applied Chemistry under the Russia Science Center, the Institute of Chemistry of Natural Substances under VAST has produced alcohol with ethanol concentration at 99.98 percent and the total content of organic impurities at less than 16ppm, without using chemical agents.

Truong Tat Hieu, the deputy director of the Institute of Chemistry of Natural Substances, said that this is the purest alcohol in the world at this time. The product has been made since the beginning of this year using a stable equipment system that allows for production of products of much better quality than other products of this kind available in Vietnam and the world market. The product meets the need for high-quality ethanol in industries like pharmaceuticals, electronics, military industries, scientific research and more.
