Mức tiết kiệm đó có được từ việc giảm tiêu hao khoảng 48 tấn than và trên 19 tấn dầu. Dự tính mức đầu tư ban đầu là trên 360 triệu đồng cho 3 giải pháp kể trên.

Các chuyên gia ước tính, năm nay việc lắp đặt các tấm lợp khai thác quang năng sẽ sản xuất 8-10 GW, tương đương 10 nhà máy nhiệt điện dùng than cỡ lớn, so với năm 2009 chỉ 4 GW. Nếu xu hướng này tiếp tục thì đến năm 2013 lượng quang năng sẽ đạt 50 GW.

The Trust says that since April people in South Yorkshire have installed more renewable energy systems than the rest of the region put together. There are now a total of 426 installations in the county - most of them in Sheffield, followed by Rotherham, Barnsley, and then Doncaster. That compares with 199 installations in West Yorkshire, 78 in North Yorkshire and 40 in the Humber.
