National Press Award on Energy Efficiency

Ministry of Trade and Industry, together with Vietnam Journalists Association and EVN, shall hold the 2012 National Press Competition on awareness raising for energy efficiency and conservation.

The award aims at increasing the quantity and quality of journalism products which are meant to raise public awareness of energy efficiency and conservation via means of communication. This is also a chance to recognize efforts of and to encourage journalists as well as coordinators of central and local journalism agencies who have made excellent products in this area.

This award will be held annually to honor excellent journalism products by Vietnamese citizens, which have been published on mass media approved by competent authorities.

In addition to awareness raising objective, the Award is also to encourage reporters and journalism agencies to actively participate in the propagation of energy conservation and environment protection. It is also an opportunity for reporters to meet and share their experience in this field.

This year, the Award will cover printed and electronic newspapers, and radio and TV programs. Works eligible to participate in the competition must be published in mass media from 1st January 2012 to 31st December 2012.

In 2007, the Ministry held the Communication Award for Energy Efficiency which drew the attention of many reporters in the whole country. From 2012, this award becomes the National Press Competition jointly organized by MOIT, VJA and EVN.

The opening ceremony is planned for October 2012. Deadline for sending competing works is 10th January 2013 and the Award giving ceremony in March 2013.
