There are two large industrial factories in the Nam Dong Ha Industrial Zone. These are Geruco Quang Tri MDF Wood Factory and the Hoa Tho – Dong Ha Garment Company. Geruco Quang Tri pays VND1.2-1.5 billion for power monthly consuming one-third of power supply in the city of Dong Ha. With that in mind, the company’s leaders are very concerned about energy efficiency.

In April 2010, Hai Phong is distributed only 7.75 million kWh per day, while it will consume between 9-10 million kWh per day to meet all its demands. Unlike many provinces and cities which often have power cut in the hot dry season, Hai Phong is still light. Most people in the city don’t have to face power outage. This was because Hai Phong Electricity has creatively issued "quotas" for electricity.

After about eight weeks, workers will flush the system clean and start over with a new batch, he said. Carbon dioxide is trucked in for now, but the longer-term strategy is to locate the operation near a power plant that runs on coal or natural gas and captures its carbon dioxide. If a national cap on emissions is enacted, a power plant might be willing to pay a fuel plant to take its carbon dioxide gas. Another potential source is a conventional corn ethanol plant, which produces a pure stream of carbon dioxide.

China's newest livestock digester will reduce piles of dung, yield fertilizer and heat, and will supply 38,000 megawatt-hours of power annually to the state's power grid, enough to meet the average demand of some 15,000 Chinese residents. It produces biogas, a methane and carbon dioxide mix emanating from manure, grease, sewage or other organic materials allowed to stew in an oxygen-free chamber.

But it's also one of the dirtiest with the world's 2,300 coal-fired power stations contributing around 40 percent of all man-made emissions, according to the World Coal Institute. Their continued use enrages many environmentalists who argue that we should be phasing coal out. But the coal industry is pinning its hopes on the rather oxymoronic-sounding "clean coal," which has become the umbrella term for a range of new technologies that share the aim of cleaning up coal in the 21st century. Earth's Frontiers takes a look at the options:

You plug the appliances into the sensors, and the sensors into your home’s wall sockets. The sensors then relay each appliance’s electricity consumption to an Internet-connected router, via Zigbee, the RF standard crafted for appliances and other devices around the home. You can then view a graphical and numerical chart that shows how much that Vornado air purifier is costing.

With the success of those two projects, we have designed and manufactured the modular exhaust-heat-utilizing boiler with design pressure of 10kG/m2, working pressure of 6kG/m2, heat transfer surface area of the boiler 13,2 m2, the area of water heater 6,33 m2. All the designs have been registered at Vietnam Register.

Featuring tropical monsoon climate, a high density of rivers and streams that are proportionally dispersed and comparatively sloping terrains Vietnam has great potential for the development of small and medium-range hydropower plants. Effective exploitation of this latent potential will not only create people extra income and meet the demand for energy in particular areas but also relieve the state energy deficiency.
