For two days, November 30, and December 1, 2015 in Hanoi, the Ministry of Industry and Trade in collaboration with the European Union Delegation in Vietnam, the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the Energy Research Centre of Asia held a workshop on the legal foundation to be laid for energy statistics in Vietnam. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Hoang Quoc Vuong attended the workshop.

On November 17, 2015 in Hanoi, Ministry of Industry and Trade and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) signed the project document "Promotion on the utilization and operation of Industrial Energy-Efficient Boilers in Vietnam".

On November 6, 2015, at Electricity Hotel, General Department of Energy - Ministry of Industry and Trade organized "Training conference in cost estimation, settlement of full payment and financial compliance audit as specified by the Law on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy".

In the afternoon of October 09, 2015, in Da Nang, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam Journalists’ Association, Vietnam Electricity and Central Power Corporation together held “Nationwide Journalism Awards for Communicative Messages on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy the 2014 Eight Round”.

In order to boost the investment in wind power in countries of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), Multilateral Trade Policy Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) in collaboration with APEC Secretariat held the “APEC Workshop on public-private partnership for wind energy development” on September 24-25, 2015.

Vietnam Journalists' Association and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have officially announced 32 works winning the nationwide journalism award "Communicating to raise awareness of Economical and Efficient Use of Energy 2014".

On September 25, 2015, the General Directorate (Ministry of Industry and Trade) in collaboration with Hai Phong Industry and Trade Department held a conference on training in “Implementation of inspection under the Law on Economical and Efficient Energy for Industry and Trade Departments in the Northern provinces”.

From September 21st to September 25th 2015, a training course on “Energy Auditors” will be held by the Hanoi Energy Conservation Center (ECC Hanoi) – Hanoi Department of Energy and General Department of Energy – Ministry of Industry and Trade. This course, one of the activities in response to Vietnam National Energy Efficiency Programme, aims at raising the knowledge of Hanoi enterprises about energy audits.

In the period 2011-2015, Can Tho Energy Conservation Center (Can Tho ECC) spent over VND4 billion from the state budget for the activities to save energy. However, to achieve a better result for energy efficiency, more support from the Ministry of Industry and Trade is needed.

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai assigned the Government Affairs Office and Ministry of Industry and Trade the task to develop a study scheme, and submit it to the Government for issuance of a Strategy for development of renewable energy in Vietnam toward 2030 and vision to 2050.

In the implementation of energy development strategy, Ministry of Industry and Trade presided over the preparation of policies to support the development of renewable energy sources such as wind power, biomass power, electricity generated from solid wastes and solar power.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam have attended the signing ceremony of Letter of Intent on cooperation and development of clean energy and energy efficiency in Vietnam.

Under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ho Chi Minh Energy Conservation Center continues the competition, "Energy-efficient Buildings" for 2016. The competition is meant for the following types: Building / Resort, Hospital, Office , School / Library, Mall / Super Market ... nationwide.

On July 7, Vietnam - France Energy Forum, having been prepared by the French Embassy in Vietnam, Business France, in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, took place in Paris (France).

Denmark and Vietnam have a long-term cooperation in the field of climate change response and energy. Many projects have been rolled out by the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade with the Danish Embassy; Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Building.

Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee has just issued a written request to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to propose Wind Power Project, namely LandVille in Ninh Thuan (Hanbaram), as an additional item in wind power development planning for Ninh Thuan toward 2020, with Vision to 2030.

On June 18, in Hanoi, Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Building signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strengthening the mutual cooperation in the field of industry and renewable energy for energy conservation.

As it is planned for June 18, 2015, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Hanoi, there will be MoU signing ceremony between Vietnam MOIT and the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Building on cooperation in energy saving and renewable energy industry.

On June 12, 2015, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam General Department of Energy and GIZ's energy unit signed an agreement to support the Project on up-scaling the wind power in Vietnam.

Since 2012, the General Department of Energy - Ministry of Industry and Trade has been controlling the assignment conducted by the Poli-techniques Solar Energy Investment and Development Company Ltd. in coordination with Ha Giang Power Company to implement 3 projects with a total number of 149 benefited households.
