Families using energy efficiently in Bac Giang City

With an aim to raise women's awareness of energy efficiency so that they and their family members can use energy effectively, recently, the Department of Trade and Industry and the Association of Women in Bac Giang province launched a campaign for model families using energy efficiently in Bac Giang city.

With an aim to raise women's awareness of energy efficiency so that they and their family members can use energy effectively, recently, the Department of Trade and Industry and the Association of Women in Bac Giang province launched a campaign for model families using energy efficiently in Bac Giang city.

 The purpose of this program is to help families use electricity and gas efficiently in daily life, then encouraging other families to join the movement to save energy.

Energy-saving potential among households is quite large, about 10-20%. In this area, wasted energy is mainly due to the limited awareness and technological backwardness of family devices. Therefore, the launch of the campaign is significant, which has drawn the attention of women associations at different levels.

The model was initially carried out among 100 households in Tran Nguyen Han ward, Bac Giang City. These households were surveyed and introduced to energy-saving measures such as: using appropriate devices; gas stove with windshield; solar energy water heater, air conditioners with inverter technology, etc. According to the participating households, the campaign has significantly brought good results. 

The campaign has created consensus and support from members of women association and a lot of people. To replicate the model, recently the Provincial Department of Trade and Industry and the Women's Union launched the model in the whole province. The final result would be energy saving benefits to society, savings for families and help protect the environment.
