On June 4th, within the framework of the Conference "The  summer peak time with power-saving Program, Efficient Use of Energy in Hanoi city", a training session on "Capacity building on communication skills for communicator team of the movement 'Households with power-saving, energy-saving" was held.

The training attracted the participation of more than 600 communicators and bill collectors from Hanoi Power Corporation. At the training session, the communicators were equipped with skills in identification, use of energy labeled devices and skills in economical manipulation of equipment, energy saving in households, soft skills in energy-saving communication, practice of power saving message delivering, and energy saving in the residential quarters.

Besides the public communication on TV, media, and local loud speakers, the direct message delivery channel through communicators and collectors plays a very important role for the success of the "Power Saving Family" program. These people are in direct contact with the families, exerting their ability to advocate, provide the advice on how to select and use electrical equipment.

Through the training, the capacity of the communicator team is improved in terms of  communication skills, presentation skill and knowledge regarding the power saving, energy saving, to ensure adequate performance capacity for public communication.

As it is reported, this is the 6th year Hanoi deployed the program of Power Saving Households. In 2014, the program saved 32 million kWh of electricity (approximately VND 50 billion). This year, the program aims to save 35 million kWh of electricity. The program calls for households to turn off the unnecessary electrical appliances, to preset the air conditioning mode at above 26oC, and to use power-saving lamps such as LED, T5 and T8.
