Detailed Energy Audit to be Conducted for 225 Works

Accordingly, the Ministry of Construction has listed over 400 works portfolio with approximately 2,500 m² of floor in Hanoi, HCM City, Da Nang and Can Tho for selection of 225 works to be surveyed, and energy audited in detail.

The above mentioned information was revealed by Mr. Dinh Chinh Loi - an expert from Division of Science, Technology and Environment (Ministry of Construction) at the seminar "Introduction into Certification System of Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiency (EDGE) in Vietnam" held in Hanoi by Ministry of Construction in coordination with the IFC (a member of the World Bank) .

As reflected by Mr. Dinh Chinh Loi, Ministry of Construction has rolled out the contents of the National Technical Regulation QCVN 09: 2013/BXD on efficient energy use in buildings. 

It is planned that the works in Hanoi, HCM City and Da Nang will be audited during the period of August - December 2015.

Along with it, the Ministry has cooperated with IFC to design the forms, tables, tools, technical manual to apply the QCVN 09:2013/BXD; with research into energy consumption norms for some works, software for management database to control the energy use in city buildings, to multiply further in other provinces.

The Ministry has also conducted training, the capacity building for management staff in energy savings at the local level, development of teaching materials on energy savings to be taught at the University of Architecture, and University of Construction.

Regarding the development of green buildings, Ministry of Construction has been deploying the cooperative activities, and coordinating with relevant organizations to organize the research, development, evaluation and certification of green buildings. The Ministry also conducts studies to propose the promulgation of mechanisms and policies to strengthen the capacity of related institutions, encouraging and supporting the development of green building in Vietnam, and for immediate implementation, focusing on office buildings, and commercial buildings. Ministry of Construction collaborates with IFC to conduct technological research into application of EDGD (works with Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiency) to evaluate the green buildings in Vietnam.
