An inception workshop on industrial boilers adoption to achieve energy conservation in Vietnam

The Director of the Bac Giang provincial Center for Energy Conservation, Mr. Duong Van Tuan, said that for the period 2016 - 2020, the province would strive to save 5-8% of total energy consumption; with focus on prioritizing the replication of energy saving and efficiency families.

For enactment of Directive 04/2012/CT-UBND dated 9-12-2015 issued by the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) on strengthening the power savings in the province, the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade of Long An has implemented the programs, electricity-saving measures, and advised the PPC to promulgate guidance on the mandatory power savings to all levels, departments, units, offices and people, while enhancing the inspection, monitoring of implementation of energy conservation.

According to the Hanoi Energy Conservation Center, the movement of Electricity Saving Households has been deployed since 2011. To date, over 5 year duration (2011-2015), the movement has saved 1.32 billion kWh, equivalent to VND2,155 billion. Particularly, in 2015, the whole city conserved over 35 million kWh.

On December 5, 2015, in Hanoi, the "Consultation Meeting for assessment and acceptance of National Target Program on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy in Hanoi in 2015 was held by the General Department of Energy in collaboration with the Hanoi Department of Industry, Trade and Energy Conservation Center.

November 27, 2015. In Vietnam German Center, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, a Workshop "Presentation on the results of research, design and manufacture of prototype of biomass gasifier stove and its deployment with high capacity using compressed biomass fuel pellets" was held by the Center for Innovative Consulting and Sustainable Development Research (CCS).

With a total planned budget of around VND 6 billion, the project of development and dissemination of high-performance energy saving equipment for gradual removal of low-performance equipment will be the target of the Hanoi Energy Conservation Center (Hanoi ECC) to be implemented in 2015.

In the afternoon of October 02, 2015, a Ceremony of Acceptance and Handover of equipment of Green Hospital Project among Vietnam – Germany Friendship Hospital, Mitsubishi Group and Ho Chi Minh City Energy Conservation Center was organized in Hanoi.

On September 23, 2015, Thanh Xuan District People's Committee in collaboration with the Hanoi Center for Energy Conservation conducted a training "Energy savings in households" in Ha Dinh Ward.

From September 21st to September 25th 2015, a training course on “Energy Auditors” will be held by the Hanoi Energy Conservation Center (ECC Hanoi) – Hanoi Department of Energy and General Department of Energy – Ministry of Industry and Trade. This course, one of the activities in response to Vietnam National Energy Efficiency Programme, aims at raising the knowledge of Hanoi enterprises about energy audits.

Croatia is one of the recognized leaders in South-East Europe in the field of energy management, monitoring and assessment of the energy consumption, which are important aspects of the rational use of energy in buildings. That is why Croatia was chosen as the country for a study tour of officials and experts of Turkmenistan on energy conservation and management in buildings.

In the period 2011-2015, Can Tho Energy Conservation Center (Can Tho ECC) spent over VND4 billion from the state budget for the activities to save energy. However, to achieve a better result for energy efficiency, more support from the Ministry of Industry and Trade is needed.

According to Hanoi Energy Conservation Center (Hanoi ECC), a unit as Savico Megamall Trade Center, thanks to the overall application of economical solutions, can save approximately 524,000 kWh in 2014, equivalent up to VND 1.36 billion.

Beginning next year, the textile industry in Taiwan will have to mandatorily take energy conservation measures, as per a directive of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), according to local media reports.

Under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ho Chi Minh Energy Conservation Center continues the competition, "Energy-efficient Buildings" for 2016. The competition is meant for the following types: Building / Resort, Hospital, Office , School / Library, Mall / Super Market ... nationwide.

To encourage “Energy Conservation & Environment Protection” in the industrial sector PCRA has been continuously upgrading the energy conservation knowledge through energy audits and sharing the experience of energy efficiency improvement and achievement of industries.

Kazakhstan Vice-Minister for Investment and Development Albert Rau and the heads of the German Energy Agency Dena - board chairman Andreas Kuhlmann and director Ulrich Benterbusch, signed a memorandum of strategic partnership in energy conservation and energy efficiency in the first Kazakh-German Energy Forum , Kazpravda.kz correspondent reports.

The findings from a survey in 300 hotels, buildings in the southern region, conducted by HCM city Center of Energy Conservation show that the top energy consuming factor is the air-conditioning system (65%), followed by hot water system, accounting for over 15% of the total energy consumption.
