On April 17th, Thai Binh Department of Industry and Trade in coordination with Energy Efficiency Office (Ministry of Industry and Trade) held the “Energy Efficiency Deployment Conference” in order to propagate the Law of Energy Efficiency and Conservation and related legal documents. The conference also tended to introduce and encourage local firms, departments and organizations to efficiently use equipment and transport means as well as to apply new power resources and renewable energy to production and livelihoods.

During the conference, experts from Energy Efficiency Office gave basic information of the Law, the national target program on energy efficiency and conservation and other important regulations related to energy conservation issue. To ensure that energy saving solutions be applied accurately and effectively, the Law requires firms to label products using energy efficient technology.

Representatives of management organizations believed that energy efficiency meant that reasonable energy consumption would not only reduce electric power losses and operation costs of many appliances but also ensure adequate power supply for production, service and livelihoods. In addition, energy savings aimed to guarantee the national power supply, green energy technology and sustainable development.

Despite being an agricultural province with low energy consumption level, demand for energy in Thai Binh has increased rapidly along with the industrialization and modernization process. In recent years, the provincial consumption of electricity has been proven inefficient. Moreover, people pay no attention to renewable resources. This has been a result of outdated technologies, large loss ratio in transfer process and the most important reason was the lack of awareness of individual energy conservation. Thus, propagation activities should be implemented ebulliently to encourage all sectors, business units, firms and enterprises in energy efficiency, to raise the public awareness of saving power and to launch reasonable solutions to this problem.

This year, the Industrial Development Consultation Center (Thai Binh Department of Industry and Trade) will implement the “energy saving household” model. Accordingly, 100 households get supported on energy saving equipment to make effort in protecting the environment and natural resources, ensuring the national power sources and building a sustainable development economy.
