In the first 6 months this year, in order to encourage the community to take part in energy saving programs, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation printed more than 1.8 million flyers, 21,000 energy conservation stickers promoting energy savings to households and over 2,500 posters and banners.
Besides, the Corporation implemented a propagation plan via mass media such as publishing reports, making videos to the home and community to raise energy efficiency awareness.
For businesses in the
industrial areas, in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and
Industrial Zone Authority (HEPZA), it propagated and encouraged giant companies
using and saving energy efficiently. Additionally, to improve the effectiveness,
the company deployed many programs such as fostering one’s belief, organizing
staff training programs on energy efficiency management, promoting solar water
heaters, implementing the model of energy saving routes. The company worked
together with the local authority to propagate energy conservation through 411
neighborhoods, drawing a total of more than 13,000 participants, organize 32
local training courses on energy savings attracting the participation of over
5,100 trainees.
Many programs such as
“Households saving energy”; “Hamlets saving energy”; “Energy saving routes” and
“Schools saving energy” were implemented by the corporation in collaboration
with the Women’s Union, the Youth Union, the Vietnam Fatherland Front
Committee, the Vietnam Veterans Association, the Vietnam Lawyers’ Association
and Ho Chi Minh Energy Conservation Center, which achieved remarkable results
in a very short time.
The program “Together
we use energy safely and efficiently” was implemented in 10 schools in the District
8, BinhThach, PhuNhuan, and the District 2 with the participation of 1,520
students. The program “The energy savings routes”, which has been organized
since April, 2013, brought changes to 25 routes in the city. A lot of
propagation programs were set to encourage customers saving energy and reducing
50% advertising lights in rush hours. The program “The safe and efficient
lighting source” tied to “Together the youth saving energy for a sustainable
society” attracted 1409 union members and 864 households. The program “Energy
Efficient Electrical Systems for city streets” organized by the Youth Union of
the Corporation in cooperation with the Youth union of District 6 and BinhPhu
Power Company first launched in the hamlet 157, Mai XuanThuong street, ward 4,
district 6. Up to now, 472 meter of low voltage lines has been installed,
includingbuilding 5 new electrical pillars, replacing 5 electrical pillars,
relocating 15 pillars, constructing and renovating electric grids, installing
electrometers and private lighting systems with 310 m length, removing 293
electrometers out of customers’ houses, removing banner ads on walls and energy
pillars.
Besides, in order to
achieve successfully the targets of the program “emulation families save energy
in 2013”, the corporation cooperated with Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in
Ho Chi Minh city, the Women’s Union and the Youth Union to organize the
training courses on energy conservation which appealed a thousand of trainees
enrolling. Additionally, in April 2013 and May 2013, many power companies held
propagation activities at 24 districts to encourage people saving energy at
homes and offices, especially in the dry season. All customerswhose electric
capacity consumption was 1 million kWh per year, would be received a
notification. Specifically, 6,600 letters were sent to customers whose power
consumption capacity was at least 50,000 kWh and 822 customers discussed the
best solutions for reducing electricity consumption in rush hours, changing the
work schedules and taking regulations on energy conservation into effect.
In the last six months, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation will continue collaborating with power equipment manufacturers in producing energy conservation decals, making short videos of less than 30 seconds propagating energy efficiency. Furthermore, it also worked with the Department of Industry and Trade as well as HEPZA to examine and propagate enterprises participating in energy management training course, the international exhibition on technologies of green energy and energy saving products 2013 (ENERTECH EXPO 2013) in conjunction with the 6th international exhibition of electrical technology and equipment 2013.
