Mr. Le Tien Phuong, chairman of Binh Thuan People's Committee had accepted power supply option to keep lighting up dragon fruit season in 2014 - 2015 in the form of 50% reduction of capacity in power substation.

As for the installation of a new substation, if the customers commit to use 100% power saving compact light bulbs to light up dragon fruit, they will be supplied with 100% of electricity demand for the garden to help reduce initial investment costs for customers. If customers do not commit to use 100% power saving compact light bulbs to light up dragon fruit, we will apply the same method (install  50% reduction fuse in power substation capacity). The new load levels to light up dragon fruit must follow development planning in order not to cause overload of 110kV substation and distribution power grid.

For customers who are using substation to light up dragon fruit and who have requests to expand farming areas in scope of existing substation, if they commit to use 100% power saving compact light bulbs to light up dragon fruit so they will be supplied with 100% of power demand in the capacity of existing substation.

Accordingly, the Chairman requested Binh Thuan Power Company responsible for inspecting, monitoring and complying with the stated content. Ensure stable power supply and safe operation of power system. Actively coordinating with relevant units to do researches, propaganda programs to be implemented  to save energy  and use electricity efficiently in the households. Entrusting Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and other local units to coordinate, support Provincial Power Company in propaganda activities, mobilizing people to implement power-saving and efficient energy using programs, use power-saving compact  light bulbs to light up dragon fruit instead of incandescent bulbs or other power-saving solutions.
