On 15/07/2014, Bac Kan Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1165/QD-UBND to approve the program of Economical and Efficient Use of Energy for the period 2014 - 2015. The goal in 2015 is to save 5-8% of total energy consumption. For agencies and units using state budget, and the public service units, they are expected to make a saving of 5% of the annual electricity consumption, at least 2-3% of energy in industrial production, 3% of electricity in domestic use.

Pu Sap Mining Enterprise (Cho Don) of Bac Kan Mineral Extraction JSC registered in extraction of lead, zinc, is in need of electricity for its effective operation. Since being licensed to resume its operation (April, 2014), the Pu Sap Mining Enterprise made a change of communication in power savings among the office staff. The enterprise planned a thorough review over the power consuming old machinery, to be replaced by modern machinery of high capacity and energy saving. For example, it uses one pump with capacity of 160kW/h instead of 5 pumps with capacity of 55-75KW/hour each; the enterprise also replaced 3-air compressor system of 40kW/h by using one air compressor with a capacity of 75kW/h which operates efficiently; put into use a new hoist trolley for 2 wagons instead of 1 wagon in the past. During the time before renovated system with high capacity and economical machines, Pu Sap Mining Enterprise had to pay VND360-400 million/month and currently with specific saving counter-measures, it saves as much as VND80-100 million/month. Thus, given the power saving application in its 4 workshops, with mining and mineral processing, Bac Kan Mineral Extraction JSC saves VND500 million each month.

Similarly, Tracimexco Automotive Manufacturing And Production Joint Stock Company  is also one of the businesses which use enormous power in the production and processing of forest products, paying over VND100 million on monthly electricity cost on average. To save power, to reduce the input costs, the Company has to replace old low productivity machinery with high performance and power saving machines. Besides, the regular maintenance of equipment to reduce loss, thus limit the energy loss. Electrical system in the workshop is parallel wiring, to supply power only to the necessary manufacturing sectors.
