Among the attendants were leaders, Mr. Cao Quoc Hung - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Dang Huy Cuong - Director General of Department of Energy, Mr. Dang Hai Dung - Deputy Director for Science, Technology and Energy Efficiency. On the Danish side, H.E. John Nielsen, Ambassador and Mr. Christian Brix Moller the Deputy Ambassador attended the meeting, together with the other representatives from the Ministry of Construction and officials and experts of the LCEE project. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Cao Quoc Hung and the Danish Ambassador John Nielsen.
At the meeting, Ms. Pham Thi Hanh Nhan, the Project Coordinator reported on the outcomes of Component 1. The project has rolled out the activities in numerous policy facilitations, financial supports and other supportive operations in research and promotion.
For policy facilitations, the project has completed the survey and evaluation report on the policy in Energy Efficiency of the Vietnam and in 10 provinces selected for the project. At the same time, workshops for local policy advocacy and dissemination were successfully organized in April 2015, and so were the study tours to Denmark for the Ministry of Industry and Trade Delegation.
Regarding the financial activities, the project has set up a complete financial mechanism; it is the establishment of the Executive Board of Green Investment Facility to keep the fund at ANZ bank. The project is also preparingf loan agreements in June 2015. Previously, the project had signed contracts with two institutions that would provide technical services to check portfolio and profile documents of sub-projects.
Besides, the LCEE project has also prepared and completed preliminary survey report over the profiles of 1,000 Vietnamese Small Enterprises, report on comprehensive surveys in the units, which provide equipment and energy services and energy efficiency solutions in 3 sectors: brickyard, ceramics and food processing. The documents and leaflets for dissemination of knowledge about energy saving solutions are available on the official website of the project.
At the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Construction also reported on the performance of Component 2 during the first 5 months of the year. Accordingly, the project has completed the training materials, organized the training courses at the local level and supported the human resource development for 2 Centers of Energy Conservation.
In the period 2015-2016, the Project Management Unit reveals that LCEE will continue to realize the planned activities. In particular, the Project Management Unit will consider and identify the selection criteria for technology demonstration and determine on the solutions, technologies for investments into energy efficiency.
Simultaneously, the project will also decide on the capacity of Danish-Vietnam cooperation in the fields of trades and investments in three sectors: brick, ceramics and food processing, as well as technology transfer activities in energy efficiency.
The Danish side reconfirmed its willingness to support SMEs in Vietnam and would strive to expand its supports to more businesses and enterprises.
