In the performance of many drastic measures in the communication on power savings, during the first 6 months of 2015 the country saved 1.56 billion kWh of electricity, accounting for 63.7% of the annual plan and 2.32% of six-month commercial electricity yield.

Particularly, the EVN affiliated Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) is the unit with the highest electricity savings of nearly 616 million kWh, equivalent to 61.93% of the plan, and 2.59% of six-month commercial electricity yield. Next comes the Northern Power Corporation with a yield of 441.88 million kWh, equivalent to 67.26% of the plan and it is 2.11% of commercial electricity yield.

To achieve those positive results, during the last 6 months, the power corporations and electricity companies have been sturdily performing the communication about power saving on mass media. The power authorities also printed and issued a total of 1.6 million leaflets, 30,000 banners, 1,000 postings of articles, 8,000 air-transmission and 1,200 TV broadcast carrying messages on power savings.

Especially during the past 6 months with the Earth Hour 2015 event, the entire country saved 520 thousand kWh of electricity, equivalent to about VND820 million. Currently, the units in the electricity sector are still actively implementing the programs to promote the use of devices that ensure the economical and efficient use of energy.
