Representatives from Ca Mau People’s Committee announced that “Clean Up the World 2015” with the slogan “Action for Sustainable Rural Environment” would be held from September 14 - 20, 2015. This campaign aims at raising the awareness of community about sustainably environmental conservation in the countryside.

Clean Up the World” is a community-based environmental campaign that inspires and empowers communities around the globe to clean up, fix up and conserve their environment. The campaign's flagship event is “Clean Up the World Weekend”, celebrated globally on the third weekend in September each year.

Responding to the campaign “Clean Up the World 2015”, authorities in Ca Mau will organize activities such as:

1. Large-scale cleaning including waste deposal, clearing landfills and illegal waste dumps, removing garbage in drainage systems, clearing contaminated water holes, clearing bushes near residential areas, office sites and public areas, mending pavements and public facilities.

2. Deploying solutions of clean water and environment sanitation at residential areas.

3. Organizing forest conservation activities; planting and saving greenery at office sites, enterprises and millitary utilities.

4. Propagandizing the campaign to all social classes.

5. Cutting the amount of greenhouse gas emissions by using renewables such as solar energy, wind power and biomass.

6. Renewing or upgrading equipment for environmental sanitation.

The province also requires Can Tho Department of Resources to inspect illegal activities which have impact on the environment and then imposing suitable punishment on infringements. Good models of environment conservation will be praised; otherwise, not good models should be criticized.

Ca Mau People’s Committee requires the participation of departments, branches and local authorities to respond to the campaign with particular and practical activities efficiently and economically.
