Electricity Generation Corporation 1 (EVNGENCO1), anaffiliated unit under Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) is responsible for the production of electricity with safety, stability and efficiency, operationalin the electricity generation market of growing competition. Besides, EVNGENCO1 also initiated investment projects and new power sources projects to ensure energy security for socio-economic development, and daily life of the people and the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country.

2015 was a year of many challenges for Electricity Generation Corporation 1 due to extreme weather events such as heavy rains, El Niño etc. However, the contingence of cadres and workers has striven to overcome the challenges, to fulfill the annual plans. Specifically, in 2015, to realize the mandate of supplying electricity to the needs of socio-economic development of the country, EVNGENCO1 produced 17.99 billion kWh. In particular, the affiliated production units produced 8.18 billion kWh; and its subsidiaries and associated companies produced 9.81 billion kWh.

Entering 2016, EVNGENCO1 will strive for stable electricity generation throughout the year. According to electricity production plan endorsed by EVN in 2016 it is 26.71 billion kWh, of which the affiliated production units account for 15.92 billion kWh to be produced. By 2020, the total electricity production of the Corporation is planned to reach 40 billion kWh, of which the affiliated production units will produce 29.8 billion kWh.
