Previously, Dong Thap Industry Development Consultant Center replaced 33 light sets of 250W Sodium with 120W LED lights in Cao Lanh City. It is stated that when LED lights are put into use, approximately 55% of electric consumption will be saved.

On September 18, 2015, Provincial Youth Union of Binh Phuoc and Department of Industry and Trade hold a conference on evaluation and summary of the Scheme of meeting organization about propaganda of energy saving in areas of Binh Phuoc province.

In the period 2011 - 2015, Electricity of Ho Chi Minh City (EVNHCM) has made a remarkable effort in the movement "Entire country joining hands to build a new rural countryside", "Building typical transmission line and station model", "Promoting innovation, technical modification" and power savings ... to contribute to boosting efficiency in production and business, labor productivity, thereby striving to improve the quality of power distribution and customer services.

On September 19, 2015, the Campaign for Clean up the World with the theme “Take action for sustainable rural environment” was favorably responded and implemented by the People’s Committee of Nam Dinh Province to stimulate activities to raise community’s awareness of environmental protection in rural areas.

From September 21st to September 25th 2015, a training course on “Energy Auditors” will be held by the Hanoi Energy Conservation Center (ECC Hanoi) – Hanoi Department of Energy and General Department of Energy – Ministry of Industry and Trade. This course, one of the activities in response to Vietnam National Energy Efficiency Programme, aims at raising the knowledge of Hanoi enterprises about energy audits.

According to Decision No.1483/QD- issued by Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy Program, Bac Giang strives to save between 5% and 8% of total energy consumption in 2016 - 2020.

For the purpose of supporting agencies and organizations to access policies and technology solutions to economical and efficient use of energy, gaining economic and environmental benefits, Department of Science and Technology of Hai Phong held a seminar on “Energy-saving solutions for buildings”.

On September 18, 2015, Department of Industry and Trade of Quang Binh Province held a workshop on cleaner production and energy saving.

On September 11th, at the headquarters of Electricity of Ho Chi Minh City, Conference on Exchanging and Collecting Electric Foreign-Invested Enterprises Ideas was held by Electricity of Ho Chi Minh City (EVN HCMC) and Ho Chi Minh Industrial and Export Processing Zones Administration (HEPZA) to clear customers' queries and disseminate policies on energy savings.

Recently, in Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen Province, the Provincial People's Committee organized the Review Meeting on the 5 year program to save energy in the province. Phu Yen Power Company is one of four units in Phu Yen province which is awarded the merit for outstanding achievements in the implementation of economical and efficient use of energy in Phu Yen province Phase 2011-2015.

In recent years, with the efforts of the Can Tho City Electricity Company and the related authorities, the communication, and implementation of practical power-saving models have been well performed. Then, the power saving policy of the State has really come to life of all classes of people in the Can Tho city with positive responses.

The resources of traditional energy in Hai Phong are depleted by fast economic development and high demand of energy. Therefore, not only the efficient and economical use of traditional energy but also the adaptation of renewable energy should be promoted for a sustainably economic development and environmental conservation.

The young people in HCMC having ideas and solutions on issues of environmental protection, energy saving, climate change can participate in the Contest on Youth Innovative Ideas 2015 organized by the Ho Chi Minh city Center for Youth Science & Technology Development.

Electricity of Hanoi (EVNHANOI) has celebrated the grant of Energy Management Certificate ISO 50001:2011 and held a Seminar on Technology in Energy Management.

Representatives from Ca Mau People’s Committee announced that “Clean Up the World 2015” with the slogan “Action for Sustainable Rural Environment” would be held from September 14 - 20, 2015. This campaign aims at raising the awareness of community about sustainably environmental conservation in the countryside.

The selected Enterprises for Demonstration Project will be audited on energy/ technical consultation for energy saving solution The activity is free of charge, and supported with a maximum VND 2 billion, but not exceeding 50% of total investment value of the Project.

On September 1st, 2015 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Journalist Association, the National Program on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy - MOIT, Electricity of Vietnam worked on the final appraisal to award the press prize on "Communication to Raise Awareness in Economical and Efficient Use of Energy 2014".

Pursuant to the Directive No.23/CT-TTg issued on August 31, 2015 of the Prime Minister, the fuel trading enterprises in 8 cities and provinces are urged to have at least 50% of their filling stations selling E5 by the end of November, 2015.

With the aim of raising awareness of organizations and individuals to use energy to make changes from awareness into concrete action in energy-savings and efficiency, recently, the Quang Tri provincial People's Committee promulgated Decision No. 1466/QD-UBND regarding the program on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy in the province during 2015-2020.

In the period 2011-2015, Can Tho Energy Conservation Center (Can Tho ECC) spent over VND4 billion from the state budget for the activities to save energy. However, to achieve a better result for energy efficiency, more support from the Ministry of Industry and Trade is needed.

The Quality Assurance and Testing Center 3 (QUATEST 3) has received and put into use a test equipment system to test energy efficiency of air conditioners. This equipment system is sponsored by the International Cooperation Agency of Japan (JICA) and installed in the new experimental headquarters of QUATEST 3 in Cat Lai Industrial Zone, Ho Chi Minh City.

On September 04, 2015, People’s Committee of Phu Yen Province held a conference to review the implementation of the 5-year programme on economical and effective use of energy 2011-2015. The conference was presided over by Mr. Tran Quang Nhat, member of Provincial Standing Committee, also Vice Chairman of People’s Committee.

The movement to save electricity in Vinh Yen City has not only gained the empathy and support from the government, agencies and organizations but also the efforts from businesses, households and the people, thus contributing positively to raise public awareness in the safe, efficient and economical use of electricity.

General Department of Energy has cooperated with the Department of Emulation and Commendation, awarded a medallion "For the Development of Industry and Trade of Vietnam," to Mr. Werner Kossmann - Chief Technical Advisor (CTA) of Vietnam Renewable energy development project. This project is funded by the German government and started its operation in 2012.

Efficient use of energy in general and particularly in heavy industry is always a current topical subject. "World of Electricity" journalist met, discussed with the managers and experts on this issue.

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai assigned the Government Affairs Office and Ministry of Industry and Trade the task to develop a study scheme, and submit it to the Government for issuance of a Strategy for development of renewable energy in Vietnam toward 2030 and vision to 2050.
