Quang Nam is a coastal province, located in the key economic area of the Central, with the natural area of 10,408 km2, 18 district-level administrative units and the population of 1.5 million people. After more than 10 years of re-establishment, the local economy has changed a lot with many outstanding achievements. Productive forces of economic sectors have developed rapidly; investment attraction and domestic sources have been considerably strengthened; key economic areas have been gradually formed with industrial zones and complexes, new urban areas, tourism areas; urban areas upgraded and expanded.

One of the most important objectives of the socio-economic development direction of the province is to continue to promote the economic restructuring towards an industrial province. To that end, Quang Nam has continuously striven for comprehensive development, including the assurance of energy for socio-economic development.

On May 14th, the Industrial Encouragement and Industrial Consultancy Center of Quang Nam held a conference on “Application of cleaner manufacturing solutions for energy conservation in industry”. The purpose of this event is to propose energy-saving solutions in industry like creating the energy management system, optimally adjusting water supply, changing the electricity usage and installing solar water-heater systems for paper facilities, textile facilities and hotels.

In the period of industrialization-modernization, the development of a cleaner and energy-saving production model is an urgent issue. Especially with a key economic area like Quang Nam, the parallel and integrated implementation of those factors will bring about great economic and environmental benefits.
