Ben Tre encourages solar water heaters

After three months of the pilot project on using energy efficiently, Ben Tre Centre for Industry Promotion and Development Consultancy has so far received application forms from 35 households who wish to take part in this program.

The Centre has installed 25 solar power water heaters at subsidized prices for 25 households. According to calculations, after one and a half year, these households will recover their initial investment.

Currently, the Centre is implementing a promotion program in which users of Empoli solar water heaters (by Dai Nam Thinh Ltd. Co.) will be granted VND1 million for each heater.

In addition to the VNEEP-funded subsidy of VND1 million/heater, to encourage families to use subsidized solar water heaters, the Centre, together with Dai Nam Thinh Ltd Co, will give another VND200,000 to each heater of Empoli brand (regardless of capacity). This amount is to cover installation and freight costs within Ben Tre city. As a result, the final prices for these heaters are VND3.7million (for 130 litre heater), VND4.5 million (170 litre) and VND5.1 millin (190 litre).
