Denmark provides US$14 million for energy efficiency program

Danish Ambassador to Vietnam John Neilsen said that Denmark would provide US$14 million for the energy efficiency and conservation program in Vietnam.

On the occasion of the visit to Vietnam by Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt from November 7-8, 2012, the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Building will conclude a cooperative agreement with the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade, regarding Denmark's over US$14 million assistance of Vietnamese medium and small-sized enterprises in energy saving and efficiency.

John Neilsen said that this would be the first visit to Vietnam by a Danish Prime Minister proving that the ties between Vietnam and Denmark have been enhanced.

On her visit to Vietnam Helle Thorning-Schmidt will launch a growth campaign in Vietnam in taking steps towards conclusion of a comprehensive cooperative agreement in 2013 in Copenhagen, on the occasion of the visit to Denmark by Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

On the sideline of the visit, businesses of the two countries will organize many events and workshops on economic development, clean energy and healthcare to create more opportunities for cooperation and to share experiences.
