Vietnam, Denmark signed the cooperate in the field of energy efficiency in buildings

On 7th Nov., Minister of Construction Trinh Dinh Dung and Minister of Climate, Energy and Building Martin Lidegaard has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of energy efficiency in buildings.

At the event, Minister Trinh Dinh Dung appreciated the cooperation between Viet Nam and Denmark as well as the Danish support to Vietnamese construction industry in projects, the ODA programs in the field of urban environment, environmental pollution reduction, emission reduction projects and energy efficiency projects in the building.

The two ministries signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of energy efficiency in building will promote the professional cooperation in the field of energy saving, development mechanisms, strategies and energy efficiency standards; compilation and implementation of regulations on energy efficiency with a focus on implementation of energy efficiency standards including implementation of standards and minimum requirements for the components of the building, research and capacity building and pilot models of energy efficiency in building.

Minister Trinh Dinh Dung expressed that Viet Nam is focusing to resolve the issues related to urban and rural environmental protection. Viet Nam hopes the Danish Government to cooperate and support Viet Nam "Develop programs to support small and medium enterprises participating in providing the wastewater and solid waste management service in urban and rural areas" and “Implement programs of waste recycle and reuse in construction".

At the event, Minister of Climate, Energy and Building Martin Lidegaardtalks also expressed the joy cooperation with the Minister of Construction and expected to share the cooperation between the two sides. The use of energy efficiency in building will contribute to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote economic development and increase the competition in Viet Nam. According to Martin Lidegaardtalks, Viet Nam is one of the three countries that Denmark chosen is the strategic partner to fight the global climate change and hopefully that both sides will have an effective cooperation in this area.
