According to the Hanoi Energy Conservation Center, the movement of Electricity Saving Households has been deployed since 2011. To date, over 5 year duration (2011-2015), the movement has saved 1.32 billion kWh, equivalent to VND2,155 billion. Particularly, in 2015, the whole city conserved over 35 million kWh.

An Giang Provincial People's Committee has approved the project on management and efficient use of rice biomass for energy generation with a total budget VND 4.310 billion in the context of climate change in An Giang province by 2030.

With a series of power-saving programs under on-going implementation, the results are achieved in the reduced power loss, continuously lower than the planned targets, from 9.23% in 2011 to 8% in 2015. In 2015, the country saved more than 2,900 billion kWh, accounting for 2.34% percentage of commercial electricity.
