On August 5th, 2015 Vietnam Atomic Energy Association, Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute, held the 11th national conference on nuclear science and technology in Da Nang.

The National Strategy for Green Growth 2011-2020 period with a vision to 2050 has been approved by the Prime Minister by Decision No. 1393 / QD-TTg dated 25-9-2012.

There are 3,810 administrative agencies involved in the emulation program "Electricity savings in offices" and out of them 157 offices achieve the standard in power saving as compared to the previous month by 5% or more.

The Clean Energy Program of USAID Vietnam has coordinated with the Hai Phong Department of Construction to organize a training course "Promoting the construction and operation of buildings in energy saving and efficiency (Standard QC: 09/2013 ), High-performance and green Buildings in Vietnam."

Under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ho Chi Minh Energy Conservation Center continues the competition, "Energy-efficient Buildings" for 2016. The competition is meant for the following types: Building / Resort, Hospital, Office , School / Library, Mall / Super Market ... nationwide.

Starting September 1st, 2015, Circular No. 23/2015/TT-BCT prescribing the sequence and procedures for investment in thermal power project in the form of Build - Operate - Transfer (BOT) officially takes effect.

To meet the demand for electricity supply, serving production, business and daily needs of the people, while it is necessary to ensure continuous power supplies, Ba Ria - Vung Tau provided guidelines to agencies, units and enterprises to enhance the power saving for the last 6 months of 2015 in the province.

Implementing the National Target Program on economical and efficient use of energy, Long An Power Company has been stepping up its public communication to electricity users in the program.

6.3 million kWh of electricity was achieved by Phu Yen Power Company as savings in the first 6 months of 2015, equivalent to approximately 2.09% of power consumption of the time, a decrease by 2.27% compared with the same period last year.

Recently, the Department of Science and Technology in Long An province held a conference to appraise the outline of a scientific research "Studying the construction of a pilot model of urban lighting system which is economical, smart and environmentally friendly" to be conducted in 2015 and directed by Architect Tran Kim Lan - Chairman of Tan An City People's Committee.

Economical and efficient use of energy in buildings and construction, the encouragement of greening construction materials are two out of five main tasks of the construction industry under the National Action Plan for green growth construction.

In the implementation of the National Target Program on economical and efficient use of energy during 2011-2015, Dong Nai Power Company had saved 667 million kWh of electricity by the end of 2014.

Vietnam National Coal – Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (VINACOMIN) and Nghe An Provincial People's Committee signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the two parties’ agreement on the project implementation progress of Quynh Lap Thermal Power Plant 1.

From August 1st, 2015, the provisions of Decree 58/2015/ND-CP promulgated by the Government will be effective. This is a decree to amend and supplement some articles of Decree No. 192/2013/ND-CP dated 21/11/2013.

By the end of 2014, the Central Power Corporation (CPC3) had saved over 248.5 million kWh of electricity, reaching 136.55% of that yearly plan, and equivalent to 2.03% of commercial power production.

Thua Thien Hue provincial Youth Union coordinated with Thua Thien Hue Power Corporation recently held a contest in knowledge about legitimate, safe, economical and efficient use of energy in 2015.

This is the goal set out in Quang Ninh province's plan to terminate the clay brick production in traditional kiln, the continuous vertical kiln and the fossil (coal, oil, gas) fueled circle kilns.

On July 7, Vietnam - France Energy Forum, having been prepared by the French Embassy in Vietnam, Business France, in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, took place in Paris (France).

Covering the first months of 2015, the preliminary review shows that Dak Lak province has made a saving of 12.58 million kWh, exceeding 3.18 million kWh compared with EVN-CPC assigned plan. To achieve this result, along with other solutions, Dak Lak Power Corporation in collaboration with the Department of Industry and Trade implements the electricity-saving program.

The implementation of electricity-saving program in 2015 and the plan of power saving communication week - the 4th round in 2015 were deployed by Thua Thien Hue Power Corporation during June 22 -28, 2015.
